Position Summary
The WordPress Developer is focused on advancing Power websites, both internal and external.  This employee will be responsible for developing WordPress-based themes and plugins, configuring content management interfaces within WordPress, and entering complex content in page builders.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrates strong understanding of  PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and WordPress to code internal and external Power HRG sites.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and comfort with the WordPress plugins and themes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the build and deploy process for WordPress developed sites.
  • Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Learns and applies knowledge of the Power business processes to design and code WordPress features.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving website problems for clients and co-workers
  • Adheres to BT development standards of quality and coding practices.
  • Writes and delivers efficient code that is scalable and performant.
  • Designs and implements medium to complex WordPress design tasks independently.  
  • Works efficiently to meet team commitments and is focused.
  • When appropriate, clearly documents software changes for other WordPress developers.
  • Participates regularly and provides product team code reviews and as time permits, cross team code reviews.
  • Demonstrates initiative to share knowledge and experience.  Offers assistance when needed, without being asked.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to new, associate and apprentice developers.
  • Delivers feedback to fellow BT team members in a respectful and constructive manner.
  • Provides written feedback for performance reviews that is insightful, specific and actionable.  
  • When provided and appropriate, takes direction from other developers and BT Leadership.
  • Constructively escalates problems and issues, including any data and application security concerns.
  • Takes responsibility to test work prior to hand off.
  • Approaches work and team members with a positive attitude.
  • Participates in SCRUM ceremonies scheduled by the team.  
  • Clearly communicates schedule and planned vacations to the product team and BT Leadership in advance.
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned by BT Leadership.
